TwoFiveOne is an up and coming kiwi jazz ensemble who are excited to break into the Christchurch jazz scene. With members Grace Empson and Joel O’Halleron on guitar, Caitlin Brown on bass and Levi Sheehan on drums, TwoFiveOne perform a range of jazz. From a beautiful cacophony of sound that is emotional and raw to fun swing standards that gets the audience dancing in their seats, TwoFiveOne love to do it all.

Coming from different musical backgrounds, band members, Grace, Caitlin, Joel and Levi all met at Jazz School this year and have been playing together ever since. Specialising in Jazz studies, they have been experimenting with many different styles of jazz from swing to bossas and from ballads to bebop.

About the members:

Grace Empson is an aspiring Jazz guitarist who has done streaming gigs all over the world on Sessions Live and Musette Live. Grace is excited to break into Christchurch’s music scene for a more local presence. With a special interest in bebop, and having been brought up on swing and big band, Grace’s unique style is golden.

Joel O’Halloran is a Christchurch-based Guitar player, Tutor and song writer. Joel has a passion for all genres of music playing in bands of pop, rock, reggae, metal and  Jazz, Joel has also gained quite the reputation for a unique approach to teaching which enables ‘MAXIUM RESULTS’ from his students. Joel is always pushing his music capabilities and is currently studying Bachelor of Musical Arts at Ara Institute of Technology.
