Playing gigs over and out of Christchurch since 2013 has helped the trio form their sound by blending styles from each member’s musical palette. The combination of influences such as: Muse, Queens Of The Stone Age, Alice in Chains, Metallica, Foo Fighters and the Artic Monkeys as well as music from the 70’s and above including: Yes, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin results in a blend of heavy riffs, groovy hooks, annoyingly catchy melodies and enough solos to satisfy even the hungriest of listeners!

Black Fox Trio are here to make a statement, and the music they play is testament to the time and dedication they put into crafting each song.

Their first show saw them playing at a Christchurch Polytechnic Arts evening, little did they know just under a year later they would be opening for I Am Giant in the same venue! In-between these shows Black Fox Trio have been playing extensively growing from strength to strength and establishing themselves as one of the top acts in the local rock scene in Christchurch. The Dux Live, Churchills and the Bedford CPSA are among the venues they have played in.

Since the early days of bedroom recordings Black Fox have received many a praise including NZ On Air funding for their first single ‘Giants’, plus features in the Christchurch Press and NZ Musician magazine.
