A Two piece Extreme Metal band from Christchurch.
Igni was formed around the Autumn of 2016 by Jacob Lowenstein and Declan MacInnes.
Together they decided to start from the ground up to write and record songs, based on shared musical interests and common inspirations. This collaboration led to the development of Igni in the form of a Demo, which has just been released (late 2016).
The Demo, which consists of Five of their first recorded works, shows huge development for the duo throughout the year.
Most of what has ignited within the writing process has been influenced by such artists as Burzum, Judas Iscariot, and Ulver. These artists and their early works played a vital role in helping Igni discover fundamental traits about the genre they lay in, and what meaning their music has to them.
Igni has a long way to go, and has not yet sparked the idea for live performance. For now, they would like to sit back, enjoy their first simple release, and see what (if any) feedback the metal communities have in store for their first Demo.
