JP is an enthusiastic, easy-going vocalist who is equally happy belting out 'Pub Classics' as to bringing it down low with some slower melodic jams and even tight lipping raps. He loves the looks he gets followed by "Didn't expect that sound to come from you!"
JP's journey has brought him from local pub and wedding scene in Marlborough and 'wing-manning' mates after a few too many brews, all the way to Ara Music School in Christchurch.
JP is pumped about his new musical adventure and is looking forward to establishing himself in the local scene and spreading joy over his new found city.

JP's the name, Vocals are my game
JP discovered his passion for singing throughout his years attending Marlborough Boy’s College. As well as being involved in the combined College’s performances of ‘Return to the Forbidden Planet’, ‘The Sound of Music’ and ‘Fame’, JP was also a Tenor in the Marlborough Boy’s College Choir ‘Marlborough Soundz.’
After high school, JP was involved in various Marlborough Operatic Society performances, including theatre restaurants and the musical ‘Cats.’ JP thoroughly enjoyed his time performing in the theatre and his experiences gave him the confidence and encouragement he needed to follow his heart and becoming a singer in a band.
JP became the front man for Marlborough’s ‘bench-mark’ rock cover’s band ‘Zeal’ and rocked local pubs, weddings and events for the best part of half a decade.
As his musical aspirations grew, so did his passion for acoustic styled hip-hop and R&B jams. After leaving the ‘Rock n Roll’ life style behind him and jamming acoustically with a mate ‘Tropic of Booyah’ was formed and again JP was seen in a different light throughout the local Marlborough scene. After a couple of years the duo evolved into a trio and ‘Lazy Jays’ eventuated, where they proceeded to entertain with their light and breezy slow jams throughout the region right the way up to JP following his heart once again leading him to Kaiapoi, where a bigger pond was awaiting him.
JP is currently enrolled at Ara Music School and he is excited about delving into different aspects that the music industry have on offer, as well as continuing to hone his skills as a vocalist.
JP is determined to establish himself within the wider Christchurch music scene and is on the hunt for some ‘like-minded’ musicians to jam with and create something that will spread some joy throughout his new found city.
