Luke Brennan
Yes Boy.
Luke is a Christchurch based musician who is currently studying music full-time at ARA Music Arts where he is an aspiring jazz bass player and electronic music producer. With a mellow and easy-going attitude along with a solid work ethic Luke is able to collaborative with musicians from many different backgrounds.
He first discovered his love for bass guitar at the beginning of intermediate school and has carried his passion through to this day. Luke’s involvement in playing Jazz music began on the first day of high school, when the music teacher took him out of class and forced him to play in the Jazz Band because he was the only bass player. Thankfully, Luke was to develop a true passion for the genre that would then lead him into pursuing it in his tertiary education studies.
Luke’s musical interests doesn’t just stop at Jazz bass playing, they also extend into electronic music production and sound engineering. Throughout Luke’s study during high school he took a music technology course which he particularly enjoyed and that opened up a lot more doors for him. He spent the last few years of his education confined in a recording studio where he would record and mix bands alongside playing in them as well. With Luke spending countless amounts of hours in a studio environment he was able to gain a extensive knowledge on music engineering and production and allowed him to work on his craftsmanship in these areas.
Once Luke had graduated from a schoolie grommet into a full grown man he developed a new passion for house and techno music. He believes it was the four to the floor kick-drum alongside the groovy bass lines that made him fall in love for this dance style of music. His passion for this music led him into wanting to compose and produce his own tunes of a similar style which he is hoping to release on Soundcloud and other music streaming platforms later on in the year.
Overall, Luke is a friendly soul who is always up for a jam and a laugh so he encourages those interested to hit him up.
