Equally at home as a pianist and increasingly involved in musical direction. Theatre productions include performing for The Court Theatre, NASDA and Showbiz Christchurch.

Matt Everingham is a freelance composer, pianist and musical director born and based in Christchurch, New Zealand. He holds an ATCL piano performance diploma from Trinity College, London.
As a composer, Matthew writes for film, theatre and concert. Performances of his work having been given around New Zealand (NZTrio) and his earthquake memorial composition premiered in Westminster Abbey on the 4th anniversary Christchurch Earthquake. Matt also composed for the Commonwealth Resounds Panorpheus Project in Malta, for the 2015 Commonwealth Heads of Government Conference.
As musical director, recent theatre productions include: Working (NASDA) and The Last Five Years (Kindle Theatre Company). As assistant musical director, productions include Hairspray and Mamma Mia (Showbiz Christchurch).
Recent Court Theatre productions include: Mary Poppins (Keyboard, Deputy MD), Little Red Riding Hood (Composer/Sound Designer); The Early Early Late Show (Pianist); The Mikado (Repetiteur) and regular improvisation with the Court Jesters in Scared Scriptless. Other recent theatre credits as pianist include Mamma Mia, Spamalot; Phantom of the Opera and Buddy: the Buddy Holly Show (Showbiz Christchurch); and Matt performed around New Zealand in various cabarets and tours.
Matt has been awarded the Douglas Lilburn Composition Prize from Canterbury University, where he is completing a double degree in Music and Law with Honours.
