Mitch Alderlieste is an independent musician and songwriter based in Marlborough, New Zealand. Blending folk, indie, and acoustic rock, Mitch’s music is marked by heartfelt songwriting and dynamic live energy.
From 2015 to 2021, Mitch was a regular presence in the Wellington music scene, performing across the city’s bars, venues, and street festivals. His energetic performances became a staple of the local circuit, known for drawing in crowds with raw vocals, rhythmic guitar work, and a down-to-earth stage presence.
Between 2019 and 2025, Mitch also explored a more experimental sound through his side project Alders, releasing a series of original tracks including Lost in Your Colours and others that showcased a more atmospheric, layered approach to songwriting.
Since 2021, Mitch has focused his musical efforts closer to home, writing and performing throughout the Marlborough region. Whether playing intimate acoustic sets or lively pub gigs, Mitch continues to deliver honest, high-energy shows that resonate with local audiences.
After experimenting with the sound of Alders, Mitch has now found where he feels most comfortable as a songwriter. With a renewed sense of direction and musical clarity, he intends to release new music under his own name, Mitch Alderlieste, embracing a sound that blends his roots with fresh, exciting elements.
