With a background of musical theatre, his love for performing live music has always been a part of his life. After going to see his first rock n roll show, he came to the realisation that he had placed himself in the wrong genre of live music. During the dark days that were covid 19, he decided to pick up a guitar and see what the hype was about, instantly falling in love with it. The next thing was to join a band. After numerous garage bands and learning silly songs, he formed the band Bad Revivals with two other musical students from high school. He has been playing in the band for about a year and a half. They made a name for themselves by competing in Rock Quest 2023. The boys placed 2nd in Canterbury and made top 30 New Zealand. Bad Revivals are mostly a cover band, playing a wide variety of genres stretching from jazz to rock and all the in between’s. Their original music is quite a spliced mixed of funk, jazz, rock and a tad reggae, making for a captivating fusion sound. After joining another cover band, BellBird, and a band with inspiration to write original music, Solace, he hopes they will have his stuff released on streaming platforms soon.
